For Midlife Women

I want to return to work but I don’t know where to start.

I’ve been out of the workplace for the last 10 years, my skills are out of date. What do I do?

My CV has a 10-year gap and I have a varied career; I’m struggling to identify my next steps.

I took a part time job but I now feel ready to take on a bigger role but how can I make this work around my family?

Do these comments sound familiar?

We hear you and know exactly how you feel.

Knowing where to start, where to turn, identify what you can do and know where to look can be daunting.

Midlife360 CIC was co-founded by two women in midlife. We have faced our own challenges returning to work after time away from our careers.

We recognise everyone has a different lived experience. We also know we can face similar barriers.

Maybe you have a desire to work for yourself, improve the role you are in, or are looking to return to work. You might want to step back from a full-time role to volunteer. Or maybe you have recently retired but you now want to do more.

We are here to help you.

Ingrid Fawcett, co-founder of MidLife360 CIC

Midlife360 CIC aims to support midlife women in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region. We want to enable them to return to work, start their own business and develop their career.

In partnership with local employers, local authorities, and key stakeholders, we want to address the barriers preventing women from thriving at work. We are working to help women to find their future.

Lived experience is a valuable resource, one often overlooked by employers. To overcome this, we want to change how midlife women are seen in the workplace. And enable employers to recognise their skills, and value.

Group of midlife women

Our aim is for every woman in midlife to…

  • feel empowered to make changes;
  • to develop professionally; and
  • grow personally.

Midlife 360’s focus on personal growth has helped me view this stage not as a crisis but as an opportunity for renewal. Inspirational stories from others within the group have provided hope and motivation, reminding me that new paths and possibilities are always within reach.

I met Ingrid at Cambridge library, where she introduced me to Midlife360. I immediately felt this was the community I needed. Through them, I found Reach Volunteering, and am helping others achieve their goals while finding purpose for myself.
