International Women’s Day 2025 may have been and gone, but the conversation around gender equality shouldn’t stop here. It’s not about just one day of awareness but about building lasting change in our workplaces, communities, and showing the younger women in our lives that their future matters. While on the wider stage the narrative feels almost anti-women, can we upset this rhetoric and start to grow empowered cultures with our own organisations?
How can we all commit to actions that go beyond words?
Mentorship & Sponsorship – what would investing in women’s growth in your organisation look like? Could it go beyond providing guidance and opportunities? A women’s leadership programme maybe? If this is something your organisation already implements, I would love to hear about it.
A focus on Inclusive Leadership to ensure diverse voices are not just heard but valued at all levels of decision-making. I learnt a brilliant statistic from I Am Remarkable, did you know that companies with diverse workforces have 14% higher revenue through innovation?
Workplace Equity – what does this look like now and what could it look like in 5 years. How could the impact of female leaders improve your organisations culture, retention and profitability? Do you have the policies and practices to be a truly inclusive, supportive employer allowing for true female empowerment.
Gender pay gap – While the gap is slowly shrinking, it is too slow. The information from the link below makes for staggering reading. What could your organisation do to rectify this? Just one woman at a time.

Recognise the challenges when other strands of inequality are added, whether it be race, sexuality, disability, age a combination can mean more silent discrimination and slower personal growth. Midlife360 focuses on the challenges women in midlife face in the workplace. We want to use every conversation we have to raise awareness of these challenges and look at how employers, women and local authorities can overcome them. How can you ensure that the value of the women in your organisation, no matter their age is recognised, celebrated and grown.
While March marks International Women’s Day, could this year topic of accelerating action give you the moment to truly make meaningful progress, where every day is an opportunity to champion equality.
